Learn How to Use the Configuration Guide

Windows® phone enables customers to leverage existing IT infrastructure and management tools, providing a scalable, low total cost of ownership mobile messaging solution. Although this is a major strength of the Windows® phone solution, it also presents a key challenge during the sales process, as companies have many different architectural options available when deploying a messaging infrastructure. The good news is that Windows® phone is able to work across all of these architectures, and with guidance on the necessary steps to deploy on their IT infrastructures, your customers can take advantage of the business benefits offered by Windows® phone.

The Configuration Guide is a wizard-based application designed to simplify the process of determining the necessary deployment steps to support mobile messaging for your customer’s specific environment (size, messaging infrastructure, mobility needs, etc.). The tool asks the customer a series of easy-to-understand questions from a survey and leverages this information to output a comprehensive step-by-step deployment plan. Both the questionnaire and the output dynamically change based on how you answer the questions, so pay careful attention to what you select throughout the process.

Ideally, this application will be run in front of a customer contact within the IT department, though it should also prove useful for sales engagement preparations. You are able to view, print, or save your scenario outputs once you’ve completed the assessment.
